The red LED, on the controller, should be normally OFF and should go ON only if a home switch is "closed". The motor system should also respond to the G 61 G-Code (advance to the switch) command and stop when blocking a home switch.

Optical Home Sensor Wiring. The reflective style optical home sensors are pre-terminated. The cables can be un-plugged from the sensors. Observe that the sensor polarity pin (large tab) mates with the larger slot of the connector. The red LED should be normally OFF and should go ON only if a home sensor has a reflective surface placed within 1/4" of its face.

(9) WIRE HARNESS AND ROUTING. The Z-axis, right, and front limit wires, along with their motor wires, are bundled into three lengths of split-tubing and then draped to the rear. The right limit/home wires are bundled into split-tubing which is looped to allow Y-axis motion. Secure one loop end to the X-limit/home bracket and the other to the rear Y-limit/home bracket. Insert the remaining Y-limit/home wires into the tubing and drape to the rear. Cable clamps and/or tie-wraps should be carefully placed to prevent pulling or flexing of the motor and switch connections. The controller connectors should be left free so as to pull-out if snagged. To prevent false-triggering, DO NOT tie-wrap the home and limit wires tightly to the motor wires inside the split-tubing.
